Red Mountain is an easily accessed hike with views comparable to the Incline without the crowds or intensity.
The hike can be started from where the Intemann trail meets Ruxton Ave close to Iron Spring. For parking, you can park at one of the few pay-for parking along the street or park in town and take the bus up to the incline.
The hike starts up what seems to be a driveway until you reach a small gated trailhead. Go up this double wide trail gradually gaining elevation. You will pass a lookout with a bench to the left and eventually walk next to some power lines gaining a ridge about a half mile from the start. From here, head up left on a single track trail gaining about 600 feet over ¾ mile. At the top enjoy views of Colorado Springs and Garden of the Gods. You can return the way you came.
