About this place

Added by Thomas Nickel

The view from the top has great views of the Front Range and Rampart Range Mountains and from the top you can see the Stanley Canyon Reservoir. The fall allows for great views of the Golden Aspen trees changing colors.

This is a short trail that goes very high in elevation. In about 1.25 miles you can go about 2000ish feet in elevation change. You need to wait till 9am to start the hike as it sits on the US Airforce Academy. It is definitely worth it. Bring shoes that can handle the rocky terrain.

You take the first right after you pass the pond and hike up from the trail head. The Academy has asked that people park down at the visitors center. Definitely bring water as its very tough hike and takes a lot of energy. Bring a snack for the top and enjoy the view.

In the winter, it gets very icy, so bring snow shoes and crampons if you understand how to use that equipment.
