Tucked away just off the main highway you can camp in a grove of Aspens, especially breathtaking in the fall.
This is a great backup campground if all of Maroon Bells campgrounds are full, which in all reality is highly likely. If you're looking to beat the crowds, this is a good number campground to consider. This campground is right off the highway, 5 miles away from the town of Aspen, easy to find, and is surrounded by Aspen groves and thick vegetation.
The sites are decent in size and include a table and fire pit. There are toilets onsite, not too far in distance throughout the campground. There are a total of 47 sites and depending on what site you choose, you can fall asleep to the sounds of running water from the river that flows through the campground. If you're a campfire fanatic like me, you'll be pleased to know that they sell bundles of firewood on site.
