About this place

Added by Ryan Mckinney

Loch Lomond offers amazing lake views with plenty of hiking trails close to camp and great fishing. If you have a 4x. 4, you can drive up to the lake.

The trail to Loch Lomond is very rocky. I suggest a high clearance 4x4 vehicle (I did see a small SUV and a Subaru..Not sure how they did it!!!). There are a few campsites at the lake and several along the way. I set up camp by the lake but had to move because the wind was so intense. I recommend camping below the tree line. This is dispersed camping and there are no fees to camp here.

You can fish at Loch Lomond but without a kayak the fish and game wardens recommend hiking to Reynolds Lake and Steuart Lake.

Great Hiking Spot
If you go here do not miss the 4 lakes above Loch Lomond, they are some of the most unvisited alpine lakes around Denver.
