About this place

Added by Alex

Sweeping mountain vistas are exactly what your soul needs.

Elevation gain: 300m/984ft
Estimated time: 3-6hours

Starting at the trailhead parking lot off of the Smith-Dorrien/Spray Lakes Road this snowshoe is easy to follow on the clearly marked trail. There is a trail that splits off to the left for cross-country skiers make sure you are following the right trail.

The first third of the trail is a steep uphill battle, but will reward you at the top with breathtaking panoramic vistas. So go slow if you must, but do not give up. The trail will open up to a small clearing and from there its pretty much flat. The hike ends with the spectacular Chester Lake. Stop and have a snack or lunch, but be careful of the whisky jacks, they like to steal food.

*This trail is doable even if you don't have snowshoes, just make sure you go after a weekend to ensure its packed down.
