Take a short and inexpensive ferry ride to Bowen Island. You will find solitude and majestic views as you SUP/kayak it's shores.
Head out to Horseshoe Bay, and catch the ferry out to Bowen Island (Snug Cove). As you get off the ferry you will see a parking lot immediately to your left. If there is no parking there, there is some further up the road just before the local grocery store. Make your way back to the harbor, and you will find a place to launch a kayak or sup. If you do not own own, don't fret there is a wonderful place that rents them right at the harbor. From there make your way North up the coast as far as you desire.
Enjoy the coastline, and keep an eye out for sea lions as they frequently will pop up around you. If you are lucky you might see some of Va ncouver's resident Orcas.
