This is an amazing way to start any day. Get up bright and early for a scenic sunrise kayak in Bennett Bay and enjoy the views.
The tiny island of Mayne is located in the chain of Gulf Islands just off the coast of Vancouver Island. For a small Island that can be biked across in a couple of hours, it offers some amazing views and photo opportunities. Mayne Island is just a stop away from Victoria and is located right above Pender Island.
Grab your Kayak or Canoe and head out for a paddle at sunrise and check out the calm water of Bennett Bay on the Eastern side of Mayne and hopefully the popping colours of the Island sunrise.
If you don't have your own Kayak, call Blue Vista Resort or Mayne Island Resort to get a rental. (Be sure to get your kayak in advance as they are known for being very unorganized). Parking is available at the Resorts for free and you can also park anywhere alongside the road.
