Hike to Woodland Falls

Important: if you are planning on bringing a dog, and they are skittish around loud noises make sure to keep them leashed. This trail is beside the gun club and can spook dogs. You stop hearing the guns once you reach the powerline road

To reach the trailhead, follow Harper Road until you reach the Port Coquitlam Gun Club, then park along the side of the road. Walk past the yellow gate and take the first trail to your left. About 10 minutes down the trail, you will reach a gravel logging road. Take an immediate left down the path, Woodland Walk Trail.

Continue into the forest until you reach a clearing where new power lines are being installed. Turn left and walk under the power lines. You will cross Prichett Creek (the site of another nice waterfall), then walk for another 5 minutes and look for a trail marker to your right labeled Woodland Walk Upper Loop. This part of the trail is well marked with blue trail markers. You will see turn off labeled Lower loop on the left-hand side, don't take this. keep walking, you will eventually reach a fork in the trail: left heads to Woodland Falls, right heads to Sawblade Falls.

Take the trail to the left and follow it along, it will eventually intersect with a sign that says Lower loop left, Woodland falls - right. Be on the look out for the remains of a GIANT stump, it must have be one heck of a tree. Take the right trail and you will hear the falls before you see them. You are able to hike down to the falls for pictures.

To return, take the same trail to the junction, but this time continue following the lower loop. This trail will wind through the forest and lead you back to the dirt road under the power lines. Turn left, and follow this road over Prichard creek, and back into the Woodland Walk path. Once you emerge from the Woodland walk you can either keep going straight to follow the dirt road down to the gate, or take an immediate right and follow the trail back to the gate.
