About this place

Added by Alina Pavlova

This is an amazing scenic hike just 1.5 hour drive north of Toronto. Perfect hideaway from heat during summer season as crevice caves provide you with refreshing chill. Good opportunity for any photography enthusiast to take those "moody" pictures and play around shades and tones. Foodies seeking new experiences would really enjoy a lunch spot on top of the rock overlooking the escarpment.

Singhampton Caves Trail is a 1.4 mile scenic loop trail located near Clearview, Ontario that features beautiful wild flowers, moss-covered caves (open to the sky) and moist carpet of liverworts and different species of fern. The trail is accessible year-round, but the best time to explore it would be during summer time.

The edge of the Niagara Escarpment is cut here with narrow, deep crevices, and you can clamber through the tight fissures. These scenic caves were created when huge blocks broke away from the cliff face. The blue-blazed Standing Rock Side Trail heads down the escarpment to a rock pillar, isolated 80 m north of the edge. It is a testament to the powers of erosion over eons. Make sure you move carefully among the rock debris as you follow the blazes.
