Rosewall Creek Falls

Starting at the Rosewall Creek Provincial Park parking lot you take the trail upstream of the creek passing under the inland island highway bridge. This trail eventually leads out of the provincial park boundary, but don't worry you haven't gone too far.

It is about a 7 km roundtrip hike and the whole way is through a beautiful lush west coast rain forest. In it you will see stunning hemlock and big leaf maple trees, as well as a large variety of moss, ferns and fungi. The moss hanging from nearly every tree along the hike makes it look as if you are walking in a Jurassic Park-like forest.

About five minutes after you go under the inland island highway the trail is slightly washed out but keep to the right moving forward and you'll get back on the trail. The hike takes you up and down some decent sized hills but they aren't anything to worry about.

Once you make it to the beautiful waterfall there is an open area and big rocks to sit on and relax or to set up your tripod to take some wonderful pictures. I did both. I could have sat on the rocks for a while just taking in all the beauty that was around me.

If you are feeling even more adventurous the trail goes further up and gets a bit harder but I didn't make it farther as I had an appointment to get to and didn't want to be late.

When you walk back to the parking lot you can head downstream a little ways to an abandoned rail way track that hasn't been used in quite sometime. Which is also a good photo op.
