Hike to Lindeman & Greendrop Lakes

You start the trail in a newly created parking lot (outhouses as well). Follow along the trail, and within a short distance from the parking lot you will come to a fork. Take the left trail (right goes to Flora Lake). This part of the trail is fairly flat with some nice scenery. You will follow the trail over a log bridge and then the ascent begins.

The trail can be very steep at times, with lots of switchbacks along the way, but there are a lot of places to stop and catch your breath, and take pictures.

Once you reach the top, you will be greeted by a stunning blue-green lake. This is Lindeman Lake. You will also see small tent spots to camp on the left-hand side. You can stop here if you like.

Continue on to Greendrop
Following along the same trail from Lindeman Lake, this trail follows the contours of the water. After traversing a few spots where old rock slides have occurred, you will finally reach the end of the lake. From there, the trail is fairly well marked with pink markers. The trail continues over many spots with scree, through the forest, along a river, and finally to Greendrop. There are also a few camping spots available at this lake.

Please remember this area is considered backcountry and there is no cell phone service. Make sure that you arrive early if you plan on hiking to Greendrop because this location is in a valley – the light fades pretty quickly, this is not a trail you want to be on in the dark.

There are no garbage cans at all in the area, so pack out what you pack in. Also note that the hike to Lindeman is dog-friendly, but the hike to Greendrop might not be, depending on your dog.

Driving Directions
From Vancouver, take Hwy 1 to Chilliwack, then take Vedder Road to Chilliwack Lake Road, just before the bridge at the Chilliwack River. The trailhead is 39 km (24 miles) along Chilliwack Lake Road.
