Escape the heat and busy city with this moderate hike to Crooked Falls. After the hike take dip in the river below.
The trail to Crooked Falls starts at the Sigurd Creek Trail. The coordinates are: N49.910556, W-123.322817. It is a scenic dive just past the Squamish city center and the Squamish River.
Once at the trail head you'll walk across a bridge over Sigurd Creek and follow the logging road for a couple hundred feet. Follow signs for the Sigurd Creek Trail. About half way up there is an epic view point. It is a great place for some photos and a quick break. From there you will see a point where the trail splits. This is where you will follow the signs for Crooked Falls.
The falls itself is pretty spectacular, especially in Spring when the runoff is at it's highest point. You can get quite close to them, and you'll be able to see the Squamish Valley below.
If you are feeling hot there is a calm place in the creek just below the bridge and is a perfect spot for a quick swim.
Enjoy the hike, and as always please pack everything out.
