Hike through Boyle Point Provincial Park

Boyle Point Provincial Park is located on Denman Island British Columbia Canada. To get there you take the Denman Island Ferry from Buckley Bay off Hwy #19A on central Vancouver Island. Take the Buckley Bay exit #101 from Hwy #19A. Once on the island, follow Denman Road to the Hornby Island Ferry terminal; turn right and follow East Road to the end and you will see the sign for the park.

After you get on the trail, follow it until you get to a Y. To get to the first view point, Eagle Rock View Point, go left and follow it until you get to a wooden fence semi blocking your way to get down the cliffside (the wooden fence is there more so for safety reasons). From there you will be able to see Eagle Rock, which is in my first picture and the other pictures my friend Sam is standing on Eagle Rock. In the foreground to the left is Hornby Island and then farther off there is a rock where you can somewhat see and definitely hear the roar of Sea Lions.

After you have enjoyed your time taking in the views at Eagle Rock turn around and go back to the Y in the road and continue on the path towards the second viewpoint, Chrome Island. You will know when you are there as you will see a light house on an island, which is called Chrome Island. This lighthouse is one of the few lighthouse on the west coast of Canada that is still manned.

At both view points you will be able to spot seals in the water and all kind of birds including eagles.

I know Denman Island very well as it is where I grew up and Boyle Point is one of my favourite places to go hiking and to take in the amazing views of Georgia Straight and Baynes Sound. If you have more time, head up to Fillongley Provincial Park.
