About this place

Hike to several lookouts for spectacular views on the Malbaie river valley & surrounding peaks.

L'Accropole-Des-Draveurs is the most popular trail at Hautes-Gorges-de-la-Rivière-Malbaie national park. Since there's no parking near the trails, you'll have to leave your car in the parking lot at the visitors center. Wait for the next bus that takes visitors to the various trails within the park.

Departing at Le Pin-Blanc campground, the trail takes you through a forest up to the first peak and will get your heart pumping from the start. I did this hike without trekking poles and really regretted it as I found it a little hard on the knees (the park had the "genius" idea of building stairs with huge rocks... I guess they don't hike very often haha).

After the first peak, you'll enter an alpine environment with breathtaking views. This trail is a popular one, so to avoid big crowds I recommend going on a week day, early in the morning or on a cloudy day.

Once you make it to the first peak, you'll have the option of continuing to the 2nd and 3rd peak. Personally I didn't find the views of the 3rd peak that impressive, so if you're already out of breath you should just skip it.

It is possible to camp in the park, they even rent Huttopia tents. You can book on their site: http://www.sepaq.com/pq/hgo/.

The trail is open from mid May to mid October.
