About this place

Added by Stephanie Seemel

Cape Split is a Nova Scotia CLASSIC. You'll hike to the end of this camp for amazing views overlooking the Bay of Fundy. This is a great place to see the tides move!

This is a Nova Scotia classic and a well-known hike. The trailhead has been recently upgraded by the province so parking is no longer a major concern. There is a nice picnic area at the parking lot, but I recommend hauling your lunch to the point - it is a much more scenic picnic spot!

The trail starts in the woods, with a few sneak-peek views off the sides of the trail, but the real money is the grassy point at the end of the Cape. If you think big tidal swings are cool, look up the tide schedule and plan to arrive at extreme high or low tide, or when the tide is swinging. It is really neat! I don't know the exact elevation change but there is a small amount of climbing at the beginning of the trail.

The photos posted are from a summer excursion, but I have done this hike more times than I can remember, and it is beautiful in the Fall as well!

P.S.....there is an ice cream stand on the way to the trailhead....

Here is the official trail website.
