About this place

Added by Andrea Thompson

Granite Ridge is a short, but exciting hike with a variety of topography. Enjoy multiple panoramic views to the South of Collin's Inlet & Phillip Edward Island and to the North of the La Cloche Mountains.

The Granite Ridge Trail is part of Killarney Provincial Park. In order to hike this trail you need to purchase a park permit. The trailhead is across the highway on the opposite side from the Killarney Provincial Park Office. It's well marked and you can park either outside the Park Office or choose to drive across the street and there is a gravel parking lot directly adjacent to the trailhead.

The trail itself has some difficult and steep sections but is well marked and maintained. It ranges from dirt forest floor with some exposed root to rock shield (which can be slippery when wet, so be cautious). This trail is a nice loop hike that should take about 1.5 hours, but be prepared to spend a little while enjoying the view at a few different spots along the way.
