Camp at Strawberry Point

If you're coming from Vancouver give yourself about 3 -4 hours of daylight driving time. This place isn't the easiest to find in the dark. From Pemberton, stay on the highway - this drive is beautiful! Follow any directions you see that will take you to the Duffy Lake road. After you drive along this road for about 8km, you will see the lake which you almost pass by. This is where you need to pay attention! Just as you start going up the hill, turn right onto the In-Shuck-ch Forest Service Road. This is important, because if you don't turn right you'll be heading to Joffree Lakes before you know it! Once you've turned follow this road for approx. 6-7km. The road isn't made for lower vehicles, a 4x4 or higher vehicle even has some fun over the potholes in the road. Strawberry Point will be on the right-hand side as there is a campground that you can pay to be at. The view is beautiful anywhere on this lake.

Now let's call this an adventurer tip going forward, if you keep your eyes peeled and drive slow you can find little hidden turn off's into the bush. There are a few of these before the actual campground (6km in) where you can carefully drive down right to the lake, and make your own FREE camping. You may run into some friends who also knew about this tip but they're usually happy to share the lake with you.

The green color of the lake usually gets more saturated as summer gets closer and the mountains surrounding you makes for a calm camping spot. Fires are allowed and you should be able to swim, canoe and kayak on this lake!

You wont have any service in this area and Pemberton is where you'll get service again so just be aware of that before you get out there. Happy Camping buds!
