3 Days on Colorado's Most Scenic Hike

3 Days on Colorado's Most Scenic Hike

The 4-Pass Loop near Aspen is considered the ultimate Colorado backpacking trip.

This past September I spent a couple nights in the Maroon Bells-Snowmass wilderness near Aspen, Colorado. This was a trip I had been hoping to do all summer, but with perfect weather and early fall color changes in the trees, mid-September turned out to be the ideal time to do this hike.

The Four Pass Loop is only about 25 miles in total but it takes you up and down four high passes so there's quite a bit of elevation gain/loss.

I made a short video with footage gathered from our hike:

Pictured above is the sunset view from near our campsite on the second evening. It was awesome to get near treeline the second night to do more photography.

Our first campground didn't offer any great views but as the sun fell lower in the evening it created a cool atmosphere around our campground.

If you're inspired to check it out for yourself, read more details here.
