About this place

Added by Brian Wisniach

Walk among towering Sequoia trees on the easy, breathtaking Trail of 100 Giants. Find a shaded bench to sit and study nature's giants or explore some of the recently fallen trees from all angles.

Located off the M-90 (closed from Nov.-May) in the Sequoia National Forest, the Trail of 100 Giants provides a perfect stroll for nearby campers or a quick 30-minute stop for families driving by to get a glimpse of some truly awe-inspiring, overhead views.

$5 day parking and restrooms can be found at a designated parking lot as well as Redwood Meadow Campground, both directly across the street.

Within the grove reside approximately 125 giant sequoias with a diameter larger than 10 feet and over 700 sequoias with a diameter smaller than 10 feet. Some of the more prominent trees along the trail have been around for 1,500 years.

The hike itself is more of a leisurely walk along a paved, wheelchair-friendly path. Great for children and those looking for a calm, low-effort experience with jaw-droppingly massive trees.

The trail is open dawn to dusk and it is suggested to hike in the early morning or evening to avoid crowds.
