Convenient parking facilities are available, with a daily fee to enter the park. If you're planning to make this an overnight trip, there are 5 campgrounds available including one tent-only campground, Miwok Campground.

Doran is a good beginner surf spot because it is typically smaller than other local spots due to the cove's protection from larger northern winter swells.
