Visit the largest ski area in the Stubai Valley
Stubai Glacier is the largest and highest ski area in the Stubai Valley, just outside Innsbruck in Tirol.
Stubai is the perfect ski area for the whole family, and for beginners and advanced skiers, as there really is something for everyone.
For kids and beginners, you've got a huge beginner area around the middle station of the Gamsgarten gondola. Not only are there magic carpet lifts, there is also a drag lift once you start to progress, and a slow and short chair lift on a mellow blue slope once you're ready for the piste.
For advanced skiers and boarders, there is so much amazing freeriding terrain. If you want (relative) safety, there are a number of ski routes for some great off-piste on powder days. But if you want to go even further away from the slopes, Stubai has also created the "Powder Department" where they have listed a number of "safe" (safety is always relative) off-piste routes. Of course, it goes without saying that anyone going off-piste should always be carrying the correct avalanche safety equipment and know how to use it.
