Enjoy one of Stubai's most beautiful ski resorts

Schlick 2000 is hands down my favourite ski resort in the Innsbruck region. This small and modest resort is often overlooked by many tourists who head straight to the larger nearby Stubai Glacier at the end of the valley.

But while Schlick 2000 might be small, not only is it usually quieter than many other resorts, but in my opinion, it's one of the most beautiful resorts in Tirol.

With the backdrop of the Kalkkogel mountains along the back, Schlick sits in a bowl. This makes it the perfect resort for almost all weather conditions. When it's windy, you're protected from the heavy winds. And when there's been a fresh dump of snow, you've got a wonderful bowl with some amazing lines to pick from. And if the visibility isn't good, you've also got a few tree-lined runs lower down too.

Schick is a great resort for beginners and intermediates too. At the middle station of the gondola you'll find the beginner areas, with a kids area for the ski school and a beginner area with some drag lifts for adults.

Once you're ready to hit the slopes, head to the very top for a great beginner-friendly blue run that goes from the top station all the way back to the middle station. And for those who still have the legs, you can keep skiing all the way to the very bottom station (however this can get quite icy as it's in the shade and busy).

For confident skiers, you've got some really nice wide, groomed red runs and a black or two. There are also a couple of ski routes under the lift, through the trees. If you want to train short turns and bumps, these will definitely challenge you!

But the best thing about Schlick is definitely the views on a clear day!
