Explore Warburton's Sequoia Forest

These particular Californian Redwoods were planted in 1930 after the clearing of a eucalypt forest. The redwoods range from 20 to 55 meters high and is a popular location for photographers due to the leading lines the massive tree provide. Use a tripod and a wide angle lens to show the size of these trees. The symmetry make for some awesome photos.

If you are lucky you might see sculptures woven from fallen branches constructed by David Digapony, a local artist/sculptor. Often getting to the forest before sunrise, Dave takes 6-8 hours to construct large circular sculptures. Unfortunately, due to the risk of the sculptures falling over. They only last a few days before they are pushed over by rangers.

You can get to the Redwood via Cement Creek rd, there is a small car park with good access through a small gate to the north of the car park.
