Explore Cape Byron

Cape Byron is Australia's most easterly point and next to one of Australia's most vibrant surf towns, Byron Bay.  This adventure is a no brainer if you are are in Byron Bay.  Try to go there during sunset or sunrise for the ultimate views, I'd recommend checking it out during sunrise as it gets really crowded for sunset.

To get there, follow Lawson St. which is one of the main streets in Byron Bay, East towards the ocean.  Lawson will veer right and follow along the ocean, eventually turning into Lighthouse Road.  This road winds all the way up to the top of Cape Byron and if you're lucky, there will be some parking right beside the Lighthouse.  Otherwise, you can park at one of the pullout lots on the way up and walk the rest. 

From the centre of Byron, it takes 5 min to drive and about 30-45 min to walk to the Lighthouse on Cape Byron.  Lighthouse Road has a relatively steep incline but its manageable.  From the top of the cliffs where the Lighthouse sits, there is actually a trail down to some lower pieces of land that would be worth checking out to get some fresh air right by the water. You'll also be able to watch the surfers ripping the point break on Byron Bay.
