Weekend Getaway to Double Island Point

Starting in Tewantin, a mere two hour drive north of Brisbane on the outskirts of Noosa, drive north on Moorindil St. onto a barge which takes you across the Noosa River, delivering you a short 2 miles from the beginning of your adventure! After driving off the barge follow Maximillian Road and after less than a mile turn right on to Beach Road which leads to beach side campgrounds. Access to the beach is either by 4x4 or by foot.

Noosa Beach North Shore Campgrounds has powered RV sites as well as many unpowered bush camping sites, set back from the tide line high up in the sand dunes. Once camp is set you can either hangout and chill by the ocean, go for a swim or a fish. If you're feeling adventurous you can climb one of the many rainbow colored sand dunes to a view that will not disappoint! If you're lucky you may even get to swim alongside some turtles or dolphins!

Fires are allowed all year round, and there are park rangers regularly around able to answer any questions. Surf lifesavers (life guards) patrol the beach a couple of times a day incase you get into trouble. There's even a guy who drives the beach selling ice for your cooler should you need it.
