About this place

Added by Korey Taylor

Take a short walk to the riverbed for a great way to cool off in the hot Texas sun. Enjoying this riverbed is $9 ($6 for children) per person.

Jacob's well is a 12 foot opening that goes 23 feet deep in a riverbed in central Texas and makes for an awesome spot to escape the summer heat. Once you reach the parking lot there are signs that direct you on the very shot walk to the riverbed. The underwater cave is situated below a rock face which provides the opportunity to jump into the water for those who are daring. It's important to understand the risks when jumping into such a small opening, so remember to stay safe!

Hays County has recently implemented an admission fee because the swimming hole has increased in popularity over the last few years, but it's definitely worth the small fee. Not only does it provide you with cool waters, but it harbors a unique ecosystem unlike anywhere in Texas. So whether you're from the area or just visiting the Texas Hill Country, make sure to include Jacob's Well on your list!

Afterward head over to Salt Lick BBQ in nearby Driftwood for the BEST Texas BBQ around, you won't be disappointed!
