Get an early start out to the Richland Creek Campground and set off on a day's hike to the popular Twin Falls and then continue on to the not-so-trafficked "Sandstone Castles".
From the Richland Creek campground, Twin Falls is an approximate 3 mile hike followed by another mile (give or take) to the "Castles". Directly above a small camping area on top of Twin Falls there begins a more primitive trail up the center on the ridge that will take you straight to the enormous bluffs and 2 large caves that make a solid campsite for anywhere from 1-10 people. The hike is fairly steep in the initial half-mile (you will gain hundreds of feet in elevation) and not necessarily great for beginners but for the avid hiker, this is a great trail to spend the day backpacking and ends with one of Arkansas' hidden treasures. The Richland Creek area is also known for some great rock climbing!
