These caves are a ton of fun to explore!
These beautiful caves are located mid-way through a short 0.5 mile hike, rated moderate. And if you weren’t looking, you would never know they were there… note that they are before the end of the trail, on the right as you hike.
The caves are well trafficked, so if you go, make sure to go early (parking only has room for 3 or 4 cars, and is right off a main road. The trail is quite flat, and then descends steeply as you near the caves, but is manageable and super short.
If you’re afraid of small spaces or steep drop off’s, maybe skip this adventure. The caves are located on a cliff, and there are portions where you have to maneuver your footing above steep drops. So please be very careful, wear appropriate hiking shoes, and don’t take unnecessary chances. Also, if you’re going early in the morning, make sure you are very conscious of where you’re stepping. These caves house critters, like rattlesnakes.
Important Note: Always adhere to Leave No Trace principals. As you explore Sedona, you'll see instances of people marking/carving their names in the beautiful red rock walls. Don't be those people!
