About this place

Added by Lucas Bremer

The town too tough to die, Tombstone, Arizona.

Fan of Western movies? Most people are aware of Hollywood movies like Tombstone and Wyatt Earp along with the infamous real life Gunfight at the O.K. Corral.

But instead of walking where Kevin Costner or Kurt Russell stood, walk the boardwalks along the dusty main drag where the real Doc Holiday stood.

The “Town Too Tough to Die” didn't earn its nickname name for nothing, it is now a booming tourist spot. A walking history tour where you can pick a side between the Earp's and the Cowboy Gang at numerous saloons, restaurants, and shops that line Allen Street. Begin your tour at the old Tombstone Courthouse, now a museum, and be a part of the action with live reenactments of the shootouts that made the town famous held on every corner – the most notable at the iconic O.K. Corral.

The Birdcage Theater still stands and is one of the most "haunted" places in America. Tours run daily. The O.K. Corral is also now a museum that houses many of the original artifacts from the town and citizens from the 1870's and 1880's when this was a major silver mining boom town.

A short drive from Tucson, this is a must stop for any history buff.
