Our first time in this beautiful national park

For my first story in The Outbound, I'd like to share some pics from one of our most recent trips. It was our first time visiting Mt Rainier National Park even though we live so close to it.

The main reason why we don't usually frequent national parks is because we have a dog and they are not allowed on pretty much any trail. I understand the reason behind this rule after seeing many dog owners not following the rules (this is why we can't have nice things!). But we decided to go anyway before the snow starts to fall; I'd be hiking and Rachel would be taking care of the dog.

To summarize the trip: we drove around a lot, I hiked the Lakes Trail and we both hiked to Snow Lake (it's a short trail and it was in the morning and still cool so we could leave the dog in the car).

And now, some photos I took during this trip.

Bring enough batteries and memory cards!

Drives are pretty good there too
