Running out of drinking water or drinking contaminated water is a concern when I am out adventuring. Getting sick in the wilderness due to poor quality drinking water is probably one of the worst things imaginable.
An opportunity to try out the new LifeStraw Peak Series Straw caught my interest. Why is that might you ask? I was intrigued with the simplicity and power of the straw to filter water in such convenient housing.
The coolest by far was being able to drink directly from the water source. You can literally just take a sip from any puddle, stream or lake! If you don’t want to drink directly from the water source, my go-to way to use the straw was screwing it onto a water bottle and filtering as I drink! This made filtering water super easy. I was also able to quickly fill up my reusable bottles with the same set up for the rest of my adventuring. You make the water drinkable by squeezing the water through the filter.
The LifeStraw Peak Series Straw has achieved the title of “staple” in my adventure gear. It cuts the wait time for filtering water and is an easy option for when you need safe drinking water quickly. It is easy to carry and takes up little-to-no space! You cannot argue with that fact! Packing a LifeStraw has now become a part of my gear line up for many adventures to come.
