About this place

Added by Outbound

The Savage River campground is located in a beautiful spruce forest in Denali National Park. Savage River campground is unique because on sunny days, Denali can be seen viewed from a short walk from the campsite. The sites are relatively private, and are reachable via car or RV. The campsite has potable water and vault toilets.

The campground has limited cell reception and no wifi. Open fires are permitted at the campground. There are three group campsites available, which facilitate 9-20 people. Normal campsites host a maximum of 8 people.

A free bus service is available, the Savage River Shuttle, to travel from this campground to the park entrance. To travel by bus further into the park beyond Savage River, a bus ticket must be purchased. Busses in both directions pick up and drops off from the campground entrance.
