Grab your running shoes, dog, or bike and venture through canopies, over creeks, and by small towns on one of East Alabama’s premier paved trails.
At 33 miles long, the Chief Ladiga Trail is a popular destination for walkers, runners, and cyclists alike. Formerly a railroad track, the trail is now paved and mostly flat. The Ladiga trail runs through the cities of Anniston, Weaver, Jacksonville, Piedmont, and eventually connects to Georgia’s Silver Comet Trail. When combined, both trails travel over 95 miles. There are numerous access points along the way including a restored train depot, various parks, and the campus of Jacksonville State University. You can make it an out back trip or go point to point. There are ample options to choose from!
