About this place

Added by Outbound

Perhaps the greatest draw for Moss Rock is that it is truly a park for all ages and skill levels. With 12 total miles of trails, visitors can opt for a short hike with the family, or a fairly strenuous loop hike throughout the entire park. Climbers will feel right at home in the boulder field, which offers many challenging routes, along with some easier faces for beginners.

Home to one of the largest boulder fields in Southeast, Moss Rock Preserve provides adventure for all types of explorers. Nestled in the rocky, rolling hills of Birmingham, at the end of the Appalachian Mountains, Moss Rock is aptly named after the behemoth boulders littered throughout its charming woods.

Moss Rock is located in Hoover, Alabama, off of Exit 10 on Interstate 459. The address is 617 Preserve Pkwy, Hoover, AL, 35226.

For bouldering information, check out Bouldering at Moss Rock Preserve.
