Peaceful and isolated at the southern tip of the Talladega National Forrest.
Little Lake Willis in the Talladega National Forest is lost in time. It was built in 1954. This place has few visitors. It is a stream fed 22-acre lake. Lost in the forest. Great fishing hole (bass, bream, and catfish) in a narrow southern Appalachian valley. No motorized boats permitted.
It is hard to find. About four miles east of Sylacauga. Take hwy 148 out of town into the National Forest. There is a dirt road on the left called Wiregrass road take it staying to the left.
It looks easy on Google maps, not so much in real life.
If it is raining, you will need 4-wheel drive. For up to date info, visit the Forest Service Website.
